Lee Hi's "H.S.K.T." is experiencing a newfound popularity on TikTok. But as it enjoys its reverse run on the social app, music listeners are also discovering the female singer's past controversy.

"H.S.K.T.," a collaborative track between Lee Hi and Wonstein, was released in September of 2021 as one of the 10 tracks of her hit album "4 Only."

The song was even nominated for the Best R&B Soul Song at the 2022 Korean Music Awards, proving its impact and virality.

But as fans delight in utilizing the song in their TikTok videos, or join in the current dance trend on the app featuring "H.S.K.T.," Lee Hi's previous controversy also resurfaced.

In 2016, Lee Hi interacted with her fans through a live broadcast amid the promotions of her album "Seoullite." All was good, as she played a Rihanna song and sang along with it, until she accidentally sang the "n" word.

Lee Hi immediately apologized while she covered her mouth, saying, "Oops! Should I have not said it?"

Fast forward to 2024, some new fans are finding out her past blunder. Over TikTok and X (formerly Twitter), people expressed disappointment, saying how it's such a pity for a singer who has a good discography to be "problematic."

In one TikTok video, the user wrote, "How're people just now finding out that Lee Hi is racist?" Accompanying the video is another one of the singer's viral tracks on the app, "Only."

Another internet user said, "Me after finding out she's racist [heartbroken emoji]"
