Lim Kim Chronicles a Decade of Self-Discovery on 'Exit to Nowhere'

Starnews/AFP via Getty Images South Korean singer Lim Kim looks back on more than a decade of personal and artistic change with her new seven-track album, Exit to Nowhere.The 32-year-old artist described the project as a chronicle of the emotions she has experienced from her early 20s into her 30s."It has seven tracks, and they reflect the emotions and feelings I've experienced from my early 20s until now — like a chronicle of my life," she told The Associated Press.The record arrives seven years after her 2019 EP GENERASIAN, which explored identity and the experience of being an Asian woman from South Korea during a period of growing international interest in Korean culture.Kim said Exit to Nowhere moves away from the broader cultural questions of that project and focuses more directly on her individual story."Each album feels like a record of what I was feeling at that time, and then I move on," she said.
