Ever since Netflix released the now global hit KPop Demon Hunters, countless K-Pop idols have been covering the soundtrack and choreographies from the movie—BTOB‘s Seo Eunkwang is no exception. But his cover of HUNTR/X‘s “Golden” has gone especially viral as he showcased his incredible vocal range, singing the soundtrack in its original key.

“Golden” became Seo Eunkwang’s first cover to be shared via his YouTube channel. Referring to the movie’s plot, Eunkwang noted he is “hoping to close the Honmoon” with the song before “it gets too late.”

Hello! This is BTOB’s Seo Eunkwang. Finally! I’m uploading the very first cover song on my YouTube channel. Actually, I was planning to revamp my channel first and then start the cover song project, but after so many requests from our fans… and after much thought…! Before it gets too late!!! I decided to join in on the buzz and cover ‘Golden.’ LOL. I worked really hard on it, so I’d be grateful if you enjoy it. And I sincerely hope the Honmoon will close!

Known to be one of the highest-pitched, most challenging songs to cover from the KPop Demon Hunters movie (and in general), “Golden” has been attempted and, inevitably, even invited criticism for some K-Pop idols. Some were shamed for post-editing/auto-tuning, while others were slammed for failing to sing well or simply not singing it at all.

Seo Eunkwang left no room for such, as K-Pop fans marveled at his vocals being tracked in a little monitor behind him as “proof” of his live singing.

- “There was a comment saying it must’ve been harder for Seo Eunkwang to memorize the lyrics than hold the high note. LOL. Where did it go?!”
- “I hope this video spreads everywhere. The whole world needs to know.”
- “Wow… Why didn’t I think of Seo Eunkwang before? This song and him are a perfect match.”

- “Oh, he must have just watched KDH. LOL. I thought he’d be good, but as expected, he’s amazing.”
- “The monitor in the background shows this is the real deal, haha.”
- “Not only is he really good, but the way he sings so seriously and with full concentration is really impressive.”
- “Wow, his lung capacity is insane. In other covers you can hear people getting out of breath, but Eunkwang’s voice is just so clear and powerful.”
- “Crazy good.”
- “He’s so good—left me in awe.”
- “First time I’ve gotten chills.”
- “Whoa…”
- “He’s seriously so good! I watched until the end.”
