'MAMA' or 'El Dorado'? EXO D.O. Says He'll 'Go To the ER' If He Performs THIS Song for 1 Hour

EXO D.O. sparked laughter after he claimed that performing THIS song will most likely send him to the ER. What's the story behind it?

On May 8, the YouTube channel of the women's lifestyle and fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar Korea uploaded an 8-minute interview with EXO's main vocalist, D.O.

In particular, he recently flaunted his top-tier visuals and charisma through the publication's May 2024 issue digital cover.

Aside from his pictorial shots, the magazine also took time to have a conversation with the idol to commemorate the release of its 3rd solo mini-album, "BLOSSOM" on May 7th.

For this interview, the magazine collected questions from its fandom, EXO-Ls, and among them, one fan asked him to answer a balance game question:

"Sing 'MAMA' for 1 hour vs Dance to 'El Dorado' for 1 hour vs Take a selca for 1 hour."

Hearing this question, D.O. contemplated his mind and immediately refused one option.

"Whoa, how can you choose this question so well? It's not easy.

If I dance to 'El Dorado' for 1 hour, I will go to the ER."

Indeed, how can he even dance and sing "El Dorado," an EXO track famous for its high notes and dramatic choreography?

Now, there are only two options left and thinking about it, taking selca for an hour is easier, but D.O. being D.O., he also refused this option and would rather choose to sing "MAMA" for an hour!

"Also, if I take a selca for an hour, I will also end up in ER. That's why I'll just sing 'MAMA' for an hour."

With his answer, fans are laughing hard at how the idol opted to sing "MAMA" for 1 hour, which is also known for its high notes and powerful dance steps!

In fact, among their discography, only a few K-pop idols have ever attempted to cover this song because of its difficulty level.

But D.O., who opened up about having camera anxiety in the past, would just rather sing than face a camera for a whole hour that feels like an eternity to him!

Fans also raised their chins and showed how proud they are of D.O. because, amid the issue of idols who can't sing live, it is rather a flex that the idol isn't concerned an inch if he will be asked to sing for an hour!

Meanwhile, D.O. who is the pride and joy of EXO-Ls showcased his own sensibility as a soloist through his 3rd mini-album, "BLOSSOM" released on May 7.

This album is Do Kyungsoo's new album as a solo musician eight months after his 2nd mini album, "Expectation," which was released on September 18 last year.

"BLOSSOM" contains 6 songs with the theme of "growth" based on the emotions encountered in the journey of living daily life and loving including the title track, "Mars," and b-sidetracks, "Popcorn," "Simple Joys," "Good Night," "My Dear," and "About Time."
