MBC’s new Friday–Saturday drama The Judge Returns is set to premiere on January 2.
The series, planned by Jang Jae-hoon, written by Kim Kwang-min, and directed by Lee Jae-jin and Park Mi-yeon, is produced by OH Story and Slingshot Studio.
The drama centers on Lee Han-young (Ji Sung), a judge who once served a powerful law firm at the expense of justice. After being transported ten years into the past, he seizes the chance to correct his past mistakes and punish corruption.
Also starring Park Hee-soon as Supreme Court Chief Justice Kang Shin-jin and Won Jin-ah as prosecutor Kim Jin-ah, the show promises high-stakes courtroom drama. In newly released stills, the three actors are shown in a tense courtroom scene, with intense expressions that hint at the conflicts to come.
The supporting cast includes Kim Dong-jun as Prosecutor Kang, who works closely with Kim Jin-ah, and Bae In-hyuk as Kim Sang-jin, a suspect in a theft case with a mysterious past. Their appearances are expected to add further tension and intrigue to the story.
The Judge Returns marks MBC’s latest entry in the legal drama genre, blending suspense, revenge, and moral dilemmas, as it follows characters navigating power, justice, and personal vendettas.
