Over the last few weeks, the K-Pop world has been shaken by the ongoing rift between HYBE and ADOR’s CEO, Min Hee Jin.

Among a series of mud-slinging between these two parties, Min had claimed that HYBE favored LE SSERAFIM’s debut over NewJeans and even held back support after NewJeans’ debut to push the former group.

Though HYBE has responded to both allegations, opinions remain divided among netizens. Some have gone back to scrutinize old materials, including LE SSERAFIM’s documentary. In particular, the clip where LE SSERAFIM members interact with NewJeans has been brought to attention.

The clip, considered wholesome before due to the warm greetings exchanged by all the idols, has now raised red flags in some netizens’ minds. The fact that none of the NewJeans members’ faces were shown in the clip, only their backs, has ticked them off.

  • “No matter how much you say this was a LE SSERAFIM documentary, does it make sense that their faces weren’t shown even once?”
  • “They’re openly treating them like maids, LOL. Usually, they would do some kind of interview and be like, ‘How was meeting LE SSERAFIM?’ and do introductions like that.”
  • “Look at Chaewon’s face. Even someone like her can be a celebrity these days.”
  • “What even, LOL. It’s not even a group from another company. They’re from the same company and were friends from an audition program, LOL”
  • “I guess they did that because of their severe inferiority complex.”
