MEOVV’s social media game has come under question following the latest post made on the group’s official account.
Social media accounts play a huge role in K-Pop image-building today, and hence, fans have gotten used to seeing agencies put their A-game forward and curate a high-quality social media presence. This includes but isn’t limited to, a consistent aesthetic on the feed, high-definition content, and eye-catching birthday posts for members.
But it looks like MEOVV’s agency, THE BLACK LABEL, has failed to meet the expectations of fans in this case. On November 17, MEOVV’s official Instagram account uploaded a birthday poster of Anna, who turned 19 on that day.
The post was simplistic, with a picture of Anna posted against a yellow backdrop and a straightforward birthday message.
A fan posted the image on Instiz, mentioning that MEOVV’s social media aesthetic was highly disappointing to them. The post quickly garnered high views as more netizens expressed their bewilderment at THE BLACK LABEL’s decision to opt for such a plain-looking birthday post.
- “What is this?”
- “Fan could make this better.”
— “For real.” - “Looks like they made it in ten minutes.”
- “It looks like something I would make on PicsArt, LOL.”
- “This is at the level of small and medium-sized agencies…It just looks like a fanmade image.”
- “This looks like those university club promotion materials…”
- “Wow. When I saw it on my timeline I thought it was made by some international fan…This is official?”
Meanwhile, MEOVV recently garnered high praise for their live vocals after appearing on an SBS radio show hosted by Red Velvet’s Wendy. Read more about it here.
