Hyein's airport appearance became a hot topic online, as netizens claimed the young idol had received a "cold" reception from the Korean media. This was subsequently followed by netters lashing out against HYBE and accusing the company of allegedly media playing.
On September 29, K-netz gathered in an online thread titled, "The Media Outlet Lineup of the 3 Female Idols Who Left Korea On The Same Day." The post also mentioned two other idols, who are Minnie of (G)I-DLE and Jennie of BLACKPINK.
The OP then shared that Minnie and Jennie drew in more reactions from several Korean outlets, but Hyein only received attention from only one, which was Newsen.
