NJZ’s (NewJeans) Hanni Directly Mentions Their Current Situation Impacting “Another Team”
Along with the video for BBC Korea, the main BBC site shared an article with a new video interview with the girls. During the video, Hanni pointed out how concerned her parents are, sharing that they all live in Australia.
I’m not Korean, so I don’t have any family here either. So my parents and whole family is in Australia so everyone is very much concerned. I remember my mom calling me one time and she felt really sad that we had to go through this.
— Hanni
She then got emotional, explaining how sad she felt and even hinted that they might have changed something if they had known what might happen in the future.
When I heard this, I felt really sad because I think it’s the same for all of us. If we knew we were going to go through this, maybe we would have chosen…
— Hanni
Hanni then tried to be positive, and while she felt bad for her parents, she knew the members would get through it and trusted time.
Living doesn’t work that way but I just feel really sorry for my parents that they have to see me going through this while they live in a different country. But it’s okay, we will get through it and I’m just trusting time.
— Hanni
Many fans shared sympathy towards Hanni and everything the group has gone through.

90% of Hanni's hate is because she’s Vietnamese-Australian and those fandoms just simply love being racists. You can’t tell me otherwise. It's extremely forced.

Yet, some people thought Hanni seemed fake and didn’t appreciate her tears during the interview, they pointed out the impact of everything (including another BBC interview) and mentioned the impact on other idols, including ILLIT.
