Park BoGum In Hanbok: How He’s Delivering Elegance And Style Ahead Of Chuseok

Earlier this year, Park BoGum stole hearts worldwide for his portrayal of Yang GwanSik in “When Life Gives You Tangerines.” It didn’t take long for him to ride on the waves of its success, being named as an ambassador for various organizations. Most notably, this year he became the face of the Hanbok Wave project.

This honor was previously held by notable women from figure skater Kim YuNa in 2022, Suzy in 2023, and Kim TaeRi in 2024. But this year, Park BoGum became the first-ever male model for the Hanbok Wave project. Through the initiative, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism hopes to bridge the gap between K-Fashion and K-Culture.

Now, just days before the Chuseok holiday, they’ve released several pictures of Park BoGum in hanbok that are starting to take fan communities by storm.

Park BoGum: The Face of Hanbok Wave

After being appointed as the face of the Hanbok Wave in April, many patiently awaited the photoshoots to follow. More news around the actor’s involvement remained quiet, but then, he dropped a few teasers of what’s to come on his personal Instagram. These photographs served as just a taste of the pictures that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism released earlier today.

The government organization dropped a total of five pictures of Park BoGum in hanbok. The pieces showcased traditional design and modern appeal, bridging the gap between past and present.

Park BoGum looked absolutely breathtaking in every single one, introducing a brand new style of men’s hanbok. On top of its beauty, the pieces also brought back nostalgia to his role as the Crown Prince in historical K-Drama “Love in the Moonlight“.

Looking at the pictures, fans could all agree, Park BoGum in hanbok looks absolutely heavenly and the Hanbok Wave project found the perfect person to be its ambassador in Park BoGum.

Honorary Ambassador of Tourism

Outside of being the face for Hanbok Wave, Park BoGum was also named the 2025 Honorary Ambassador of Tourism by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Through this role, Park BoGum will promote Korea’s tourism to the world—and many might say it’s working.

After being appointed, Park BoGum has participated in various promotions from videos to posters. The released media highlights Korea’s many charms that combine bustling city life with relaxing nature.

YouTube channel, Imagine Your Korea, even released a customized “My Korea Travel Playlist” that included some of the actor’s top music picks. From relaxing ballads to upbeat dance tracks, you can totally picture yourself traveling across Korea while listening to this playlist.

As Park BoGum continues his role as honorary ambassador, fans are excited to see what other cities Park BoGum will promote next.
