Park Seo Jun and Um Tae Goo are set to lead Born Guilty, a new action crime noir series slated for exclusive release on Disney+.
Based on a popular Kakao webtoon, the series is set in 1980s Korea and centers on two men navigating the country’s criminal underworld during a period of rapid urban development in Seoul. The story follows Pengi, a calculating and unpredictable figure who grew up in an orphanage surrounded by crime. Armed with intelligence and ambition, he seeks to rise through the ranks of the underworld.
Pengi’s trajectory shifts when he partners with Ssaengdak, a gangster operating in the northern part of the city. The two form an alliance in pursuit of power, setting off a chain of events that escalates into a high-stakes struggle for control.
Park Seo Jun will portray Pengi, while Um Tae Goo takes on the role of Ssaengdak. The series is written and directed by Hong Wonchan, with production by NEW POINT and Plusmedia Entertainment.
Born Guilty is part of Disney+’s expanding slate of Korean originals, joining titles such as The Worst of Evil and Low Life. Additional details, including premiere timing, have yet to be announced.
