Popular Idol’s Reaction To Her Contract’s Termination Goes Viral

Recently, a popular idol’s reaction to her contract termination went viral.

In 2016, the debut process for an upcoming girl group under BlockBerry Creative was started. Over 18 months, the members of LOONA had various pre-debut activities culminating in their 2018 debut.

In 2022, nine members of LOONA attempted to have their exclusive contracts suspended following Chuu’s expulsion from the group. A long legal battle followed, with members being granted contract suspensions over time.

Several members have since re-debuted, both as soloists and in new groups.

While it seemed that the legal issues were wrapped up, fans were surprised when, on April 17, it was reported that five members of LOONA’s (Haseul, Yeojin, Yves, Go Won, and Olivia Hye (now known as Hyeju)) contracts had been legally terminated. The court also stated that it did not find that the contracts were invalid.

Though more legal litigation is likely, this confirmation that all members are free inspired many reactions, including from Hyeju, who sent messages on a fan chatting platform.

The image Hyeju sent is of actress Nicole Kidman after signing divorce papers and ending her marriage to Tom Cruise. Fans have mirrored the relief over this official separation, and are celebrating the idols’ freedom.
