For K-Pop idols, it can be hard to remember all the fans they meet through fan signs and video calls. But for one rookie idol, he went out of his way to prepare for a video call with a particular fan.

NCT WISH Jaehee‘s video call garnered much attention on online community boards, with almost 70,000 views from netizens.

In the video call, he discusses a book recommended by the fan.

Fan: Did you finish reading the book?

Jaehee: So listen. I felt I had a video call with you today, so I finished the book last night until early morning.

Fan: Really? I’m so touched. What did you like about the book?

Jaehee: Me? I liked what the book was trying to express, and the words were lovely. The way they tried to overcome pain and how they could swim out. There were a lot of good parts. What about you?

Fan: Were there any parts that you disliked?

Jaehee: The parts I disliked were that they cried too much.

Fan: I liked the title, and I enjoyed reading it up until when they graduated high school and went to university. But the ending was so touching.

Jaehee: Right?

Fan: The part at the end when they said, ‘The person the dad saved was me?’ I wondered, ‘Why did they wait until the end to say this?’

Jaehee: You’re so right.

Fan: And how Dodam’s boyfriend’s character totally fell apart?

Jaehee: Yeah.

For context, the fan recommended a book through a letter, in which Jaehee read and bought the book to read. He finished the book late into the night so that he could talk about it with the fan during the fan call the next day.
