[Review] CLICK – JISOO (BLACKPINK)

The first review in over a week is for the song that I have been obsessed with since its release. It even topped my most recent Weekly KPOP Charts. The song is none other than JISOO’s pre-release single CLICK, which was released earlier this month. It will feature as part of her upcoming studio album. The last time I reviewed JISOO’s song was last year for her earthquake single and her AMORTAGE mini-album. While CLICK is a very simple dance-pop song, the synth’s simplicity, the chorus’s catchiness, and the song’s overall ease have me hooked. While the track does feel empty, I think the combination of these 3 elements makes JISOO’s song speak to me. Though on the flip side, that could mean CLICK could have been beefed up and made more robust, so there is more to it. I enjoyed the stop-start delivery of the chorus, which gives the song a little something extra to talk about. JISOO herself sounds nice, though a bit more personality might have been a nice touch. It would have given CLICK more character and made the song feel less generic. So, looking back and consolidating my thoughts into this post, there is a lot more that could have been done with CLICK.
