BLACKPINK‘s Rosé is once again facing heated criticism from K-Pop fans after her response in a previous Hot Ones guest appearance resurfaced.
| @roses_are_rosie/InstagramDuring the interview, Rosé spoke about what makes BLACKPINK stand out. She highlighted the group’s strong work ethic, saying all four members aim high and work hard every day, adding that she’s never seen any of them truly want to rest.
The comment hasn’t landed well with many fans.
All four of us, like, the one thing that hopefully differentiates us as a whole group to others is, or maybe not even differentiates, but, like, is so strong about BLACKPINK, is the fact that each one of us, we want such big things for ourselves, and we work so hard every day.
I’ve never seen someone that’s like, “I just wanna rest.” Even if we have said that before, I don’t think anyone means that. BLACKPINK is really hard working.

The backlash comes from long-standing criticisms surrounding the group, particularly their limited number of releases and ongoing accusations of inconsistent stage performances.

For some, Rosé’s statement felt out of touch with how the group is often perceived.
She sounds like she think she’s in TWICE who actually never EVER rest even when we want them to

Concerts unrehearsed, barely make any music, too lazy to do promotions, won’t even do the bare minimum to make fan content

Instead of focusing on their individual strengths or global influence, some argued that emphasizing “hard work” only reopened an old debate that has followed the group for years.
