Following the news of Seunghan's departure from RIIZE, the idol's exit caused a massive stir inside the K-pop community.
In an online forum on October 14, further chaos seemed to have erupted between international and Korean BRIIZEs.
The post's author claimed that international fans have bullied a minor fan and others who have expressed liking RIIZE as an OT6 stan.
"They found and mocked a minor fan's personal information. It has already reached 30k retweets and over 3 million views."
Translation: "Take some time to act like a (redacted) on the internet. Go take college entrance exams. Your mom will kill you if you don't have a college to study for, you stupid face."
"They exposed her identity and are mocking her selfies, exposing everything about her."
"And the reason why they are doing this was because the fan mentioned she liked OT6. It's shocking."
The thread continued to mention how much Seunghan's departure made noise among international fans compared to Korea.
OP stated that people were angry due to SM's handling of the overall situation since Seunghan was brought back following a long hiatus, but was retracted from the group shortly after.
The author also pointed out the "excessive" protest methods of "K-fans."
The post also shared that RIIZE has lost around 80k followers in one day. OP also included reaction tweets from Japanese BRIIZEs, which displayed polarizing opinions towards Korean fans.
Translation: "Wonbin apologized because of Seunghan - no, it's because of you, it's because you sent funeral wreaths to the company."
Translation: "Hearing about Seunghan's departure."
K-fans commented on the post:
On the other hand, the post also garnered reactions from international fans on the thread and platform X (formerly Twitter).
- "Bullying will never be okay, but it's insane seeing these people acting like bullying Seunghan is fine since they purchase RIIZE's products."
- "Both are wrong. The internet has made everyone brave and lose their morals."
- "Everyone is going crazy, but this won't bring him back to the group."
- "Both fans are the same. K-pop fans sharing the same brain cells is nothing new at all."
