Earlier, it was reported that former BIGBANG member Seungri—disgraced from the K-Pop scene after serving a year-and-a-half prison sentence for his role in the Burning Sun scandal—had “left Korea to pursue business ventures in China.”
Seungri Reportedly Planning On Joining The Entertainment Business Again
In a new interview with Ilgan Sports, held April 3, 2025 (KST), the idol-turned-criminal refuted the report, commenting that he still lives in Korea and is not looking to start a business overseas.
First of all, the talk about me leaving Korea is not true. I’m currently living in Korea, and most of my overseas trips are because I’ve been invited to friends’ weddings or to take personal time off. Other than that, I’m not having any business meetings or planning anything elsewhere.
They say I’m still interested in the entertainment business, but the fact is that I have no such plans whatsoever. The only recent interaction I had with someone from the entertainment industry was having a meal with people I used to work with, reminiscing about old times.

Seungri also clarified that, since his release from prison in February 2023, he is “currently not engaged in any economic activities.”

It’s all rumors and gossip. Because I have many acquaintances overseas, people seem to assume I’m planning something abroad, but that’s not true—I have no business plans. My recent visit to China wasn’t to attend a club event or to start something there. I went solely to attend a friend’s wedding. I have no intention of starting anything again.
I’m mostly spending time with my family and just living without doing anything.
