SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups & Mingyu Smash Records with 600K First-Day Sales of “HYPE VIBES”

SEVENTEEN’s powerhouse duo S.Coups and Mingyu have set the stage ablaze with their first mini-album HYPE VIBES, proving their unmatched influence as a unit.

On its release day, September 29, the album sold an impressive 605,755 copies, immediately topping the Hanteo Daily Album Chart and setting a new record for the highest first-day sales of any K-pop unit album.

The title track, “5, 4, 3 (Pretty Woman)” featuring Lay Bankz, soared to No. 1 on Bugs’ real-time chart right after release, while every track on the album—including Fiesta, Worth It, For You, Young Again, and Earth—secured spots on Melon’s Top 100.

The global response has been just as explosive. “5, 4, 3 (Pretty Woman)” dominated iTunes Top Songs charts in 16 regions including Spain, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Egypt. Meanwhile, HYPE VIBES hit No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums in 11 regions and climbed to No. 6 on the Worldwide Albums chart. In China, the album earned QQ Music’s double gold certification within hours, topping both daily and weekly Digital Best-Seller Album charts for the EP category.

The music video has also been making waves, quickly trending at No. 1 not only in Korea but also in Germany, Canada, and Indonesia, while claiming the crown on YouTube Music Video Trending Worldwide.

Adding to the excitement, both S.Coups and Mingyu took part in writing and composing all the tracks, making HYPE VIBES a project brimming with authenticity and artistry. Fans won’t have to wait long to see them perform live—the duo will take the stage on Mnet’s M Countdown on October 2, where they’ll unveil their new song for the very first time.
