SF9 has successfully wrapped up their much-anticipated 8th-anniversary fan concert, delivering a vibrant and memorable experience for their dedicated fanbase.

The event, titled 2024 SF9 FAN-CON ‘My 8antasia,’ took place on the 4th and 5th of October at the KBS Arena in Seoul, marking a significant milestone in the group’s journey. This concert was particularly meaningful, as it was the first time member Jaeyoon performed alongside his group after completing his military service.

As the concert began, the atmosphere was electric with excitement. SF9 opened the show with their title track “Don’t Worry, Be Happy,” instantly captivating the audience with their energy and charisma. Following this lively introduction, the group continued to elevate the atmosphere with standout performances of fan favorites like “Into The Night” and “SCREAM.” The members showcased their versatility through a variety of segments, including special cover stages, unit performances, and solo acts that could only be seen during this fan concert, creating a unique and engaging experience for their fans.

Midway through the concert, a VCR segment was played, revealing heartfelt confessions from the members that showcased their individual personalities. This segment also included a humorous proposal scene that parodied classic romantic drama lines, prompting enthusiastic reactions from the audience. The concert included various interactive segments designed to highlight the members’ charm and talent. In one such activity, the “Empathy Test,” fans attempted to guess the answers chosen by the members, while the “Sweet Ability Test” involved members holding hands and giving each other heartfelt compliments. Another fun segment, the “Cover Ability Test,” challenged the group to a dance-off to randomly selected music tracks, showcasing their spontaneous spirit.

The concert was creatively themed as a wedding, evoking the imagery of SF9 as the groom and their fandom, known as Fantasy, as the bride. This concept added a unique layer of enjoyment, with SF9’s manager acting as the MC, further enhancing the atmosphere and making fans feel like an integral part of the celebration.

Expressing their heartfelt feelings, SF9 shared their joy and gratitude for the opportunity to connect with their fans. “We were happy to meet Fantasy and hope to continue being together in the future. Performing for our 8th anniversary has been a great fortune, and this experience will remain an unforgettable and cherished memory for the rest of our lives,” the group said. Jaeyoon, who met with fans after a long absence, expressed his elation: “I feel good because I feel like I’ve properly returned as Jaeyoon of SF9. I look forward to meeting you all again with a new album and performances.” Inseong added to the excitement by promising fans, “I still have a lot of music I want to share, so I will work hard to show you a better side of me.”

The concert lasted an impressive 180 minutes, captivating the audience from start to finish. Towards the end of the event, SF9 engaged with fans in a personal manner, walking around the concert hall, making eye contact, and distributing roses, showcasing their affection and appreciation for their loyal supporters, whom they refer to as “Fantasy lovers.” In a climactic finale, they responded to fervent encore requests by performing “My Fantasia,” “Don’t Worry, Be Happy,” and “SCREAM” once more, ensuring the high energy continued until the very last moment.

Having recently completed promotions for their 14th mini-album FANTASY in September, SF9 is set to maintain their momentum in the industry. Fans can look forward to the group engaging in a mix of individual and group activities, solidifying their presence in various fields. The success of this fan concert not only celebrates their past achievements but also builds excitement for what lies ahead, as SF9 continues to evolve and grow within the K-pop landscape. With the promise of new music and performances on the horizon, the future looks bright for both the group and their devoted fans.
