Girls' Generation singer and actress Yuri has stepped up to feed fans protesting President Yoon.
The idol revealed that she prepared kimbap, or seaweed rice rolls, for fans attending the protest rally in Yeouido calling for the impeachment of President Yoon after he called for martial law.
Girls' Generation's song, "Into the New World," was recently chosen as a protest anthem by groups of activists who've participated in ongoing rallies.
"Everyone, eat gimbap tomorrow and stay full. Be safe and stay healthy. Sing 'Into the New World' well," Yuri wrote to fans over social media.
She shared that she'd paid for kimbap at a restaurant near Dangsan Station for fans. Those interested can collect the food by presenting SNSD's official light stick, the SONE stick.
The day before, Yuri had thanked fans for picking the song as their chorale of choice.
"How are you holding up in the cold? The SONE sticks looked so beautiful and cool," she said.
"Be careful of getting sick and dress warmly. I loved hearing 'Into the New World' resonate. I listen to it every day, too."
Yuri isn't the only celebrity openly showing their support for Yoon's protestors. IU, a singer and actress, also prepared food, including soups and rice cakes, for fans attending the rally.
The singer's label announced the free meals, available to 700 fans on a first-come-first-serve basis, in a statement.
"To warm the cold hands of UAENA (IU's fandom name) holding up their lights and brightening the atmosphere at the rally, IU has prepared food and hand warmers," the agency said.
