SISTAR member Soyou has received a formal apology from Delta Air Lines after she claimed to have been mistreated on board a flight returning to Korea.
On October 31, 2025 (KST), Soyou shared via Instagram that she has accepted Delta’s email apology after being promised that measures will be taken to prevent a recurrence. In a lengthy, detailed post, the K-Pop idol explained that the incident was, indeed, officially reported to the airline company as soon as it happened…
“Hello, this is Soyou. After finishing my schedule last week, I experienced an incident on my return flight to Korea. As false information and rumors continue to spread recklessly, I wanted to provide a clear and accurate account of what actually happened.
Before the plane landed, I submitted a written report about the uncomfortable events that had occurred throughout the flight. This week, I received an official apology from Delta Air Lines via email.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who empathized with what I went through and expressed concern for me over the past week. I also apologize for causing any worry with this personal matter. Thanks to the support and encouragement I received after sharing my story, I’ve been able to return to my normal life.”

…and that the “alleged witnesses'” claims about her being drunk and acting disruptive first are baseless and defamatory. Soyou added that legal action will follow against those who started and spread the rumor.

“However, despite these clarifications, baseless rumors and false claims are still being spread indiscriminately.
Since I’ve already received a formal apology for the issue in question, I do not intend to discuss it any further on public platforms. That said, I will respond firmly and take legal action against any groundless speculation, unverified falsehoods, or defamatory remarks that violate my personal rights.
I’m sorry to have to share yet another uncomfortable message, but I believe it’s important to correct misinformation when it arises. Once again, I apologize for causing concern with this personal matter, and I hope to come back to you soon with only good news.
Thank you.”
