STAYC are back with another comeback and round of promotions, this time with their new single album, S. The group debuted back in November of 2020 and have continued their flawless discography with “BEBE“.
First of all, thank god this song is at least over three minutes and gives us a multiple choruses, a bridge, and an outro. As I’ve been engrossed with some of this month’s metal releases, every time I return to K-pop I’m appalled that most songs are still stuck suffocated in that two-minute TikTok format, but the STAYC girls letting it breathe on this one.
As I awoke this morning blasting this song, I really was worried for a moment that the hooks weren’t there. However, upon second listen and thereafter, I can’t get it out of my head. Each listen peels more layers back, and honestly that chorus instrumental is peak nostalgia for me. It brings out that mid 2000s electronic club vibe/Japanese electronic rhythm game nerd out of me. Rado really went all out with the electronic instrumentals to design a new concept for STAYC to conquer.
If you were not a fan of the last few STAYC comebacks I can’t imagine not digging this one, STAYC is always evolving, and while I know some yearn for a return to Young-Luv.com era, I for one embrace each new direction they expand their discography in.

Oh right, but arguably the bigger deal is that they were on Dingo Music‘s Killing Voice to perform a whopping 16-song medley.
Eighteen minutes of some of the best K-pop songs of recent years, and honestly the entire mix was godlike with “ASAP“, “Poppy“, “RUN2U“, “Cheeky Icy Thang“, “YOUNG LUV“, “STEREOTYPE“, “BEAUTIFUL MONSTER“, “SO WHAT“, “SO BAD“, “247“, “Over U“, “GPT“, “Teddy Bear“, “Bubble“, “Stay WITH Me“, and “BEBE“.
Along with “BEBE”, I already know this video is going to be on my rotation for awhile, and the feeling of seeing them go through their catalog is oddly nostalgic. From their early beginning amidst the pandemic to seeing them performing in front of crowds and even doing some touring overseas, I can’t wait to see the making-of video that will be uploaded to get an idea of what the recording process was like on this new single.
