Netizens think Super Junior Leeteuk’s recent social media activity was in support of former RIIZE’s Seunghan.

On October 13, it was announced that Seunghan would withdraw from RIIZE after previously being announced to resume activities. Many fans have now rallied behind the idol, showing support through a boycott of RIIZE.

Fans have also taken their protests to SM Entertainment’s building, with the first of many protest trucks delivering messages demanding Seunghan be reinstated.

The outpouring of support online has spread beyond fans of RIIZE, as many believe what has happened is unjust. Some have likened the situation to similar ones that occurred in the past, including what happened with singer-songwriter Henry Lau.

Henry and Zhoumi officially debuted in 2008 as members of Super Junior-M, a subunit of Super Junior. The two were exclusive members of this sub-unit, unlike how all NCT members participate rotationally in NCT U.

This was said to be due to protests against Super Junior’s status as a project group. After Henry first appeared on stage with Super Junior in 2007, fans protested the possible addition of more members and were harsh in their methods.

In addition to protests outside of SM Entertainment, fans also bought stock in the company all in efforts to keep Super Junior as 13 members.

Henry has discussed this time in his career, speaking about how fans shouted “Henry Out” during his first performance in 2007, and how it affected him emotionally.

A tweet discussing this was shared on X, and has gone viral with over 1.4 million views.

what happened to riize’s Seunghan and the group as a whole is heartbreaking. and it’s extremely unfortunate how SM and even artists in general always prioritize korean fans wishes. which is actually just a reminder that nothing change, it happened to henry lau in 2007 and it’s… pic.twitter.com/c1tVngBJEN

if leeteuk saw this then there must be other sm artists who are on twt who could've seen this too.

leeteuk had experienced the same thing riize are experiencing exactly 17 years AGO. and its STILL HAPPENING 17 years later. we must end this precedent now ‼️#SMSupportsbullying https://t.co/u3JelhHTfZ
