When tvN’s Reply 1994 aired in 2013, the coming-of-age series instantly became a classic, turning its cast into household names. But among the cast, a child actor who briefly appeared as Jung Woo’s younger self caught the audience’s attention — and has now resurfaced in a completely different spotlight.
Doha, then just six years old, first stepped into the entertainment industry back in 2009. His debut was a chicken commercial alongside Korea’s “Nation’s MC” Yoo Jae Suk.
Doha went on to appear in dramas, including playing Jung Woo’s younger counterpart in Reply 1994. He also made multiple appearances in King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo, where he began to truly enjoy acting. However, as his family moved to Daegu during his elementary school years, he decided to pause his acting career to focus on his studies.
While in Daegu, Doha continued to attract attention. He was cast on the street an astonishing 17 times and scouted through social media around 20 times by the time he was 15. A gifted student, he also ranked second in his city’s gifted education program.
Eventually, Doha and his father moved to Seoul to pursue his dream of debuting as an idol. After years of training and determination, Doha officially debuted as a member of the boy group BAE173 under PocketDol Studio.
