TikTok’s annual year-end report is out, and the K-Pop takeover is crazier than ever!
On December 4, KST, TikTok published its “Year on TikTok” review, consisting of multiple music lists, one of them being the “Top 10 Artists Global 2024.” As the name suggests, the list reflected the most consumed artists on the platform across the globe. And interestingly, seven out of those ten names on the list belong to K-Pop this year!
Here are the seven K-Pop acts that ruled over the platform’s global user base:
TWICE
The third-gen girl group ranked ninth on the list.
TXT
TXT took up the seventh place on the top 10 list.
aespa
The fourth-gen powerhouse was the sixth name on the list.
Stray Kids
Stray Kids came in fifth among the top ten.
LE SSERAFIM
The HYBE girl group landed fourth place.
NCT
NCT claimed the third place on the list.
ENHYPEN
ENHYPEN snatched the top spot among the K-Pop acts this year, landing in second place. TikTok also highlighted the global popularity of the group’s July release, “XO (Only If You Say Yes).” The song was used in 354,000 TikTok content pieces in the past year.
This marks a significant uptick in K-Pop artists’ popularity on TikTok compared to last year, when 50% of its most popular artists were from K-Pop. You can read more about it here.
