The company’s director, Fransiska Dwi Melani, has officially been named a suspect in a case involving TWICE‘s Ready To Be concert, which took place in Jakarta in December 2023. She has been accused of misusing funds related to TWICE’s tour. According to Jakarta Police spokesperson Reonald Simanjuntak, “We have questioned nine witnesses and one expert. The suspect has been detained, meaning the case has reached the suspect stage.”

“The file is in the first stage and is now being examined by the prosecutor’s office,” he continued. “Hopefully, it will soon be declared complete.” Media Inspirasi Bangsa (MIB), the main investor, filed a police report on Melani on January 10, 2025, claiming to have lost millions of dollars due to the misuse of funds.

Under Melani’s leadership, Mecimapro has hosted many K-Pop events for major groups such as SEVENTEEN, ITZY, TREASURE, and Super Junior, but the company has also had its share of controversy. In 2017, fans protested a sudden change to the seating plan for SEVENTEEN’s Diamond Edge in Jakarta. In 2022, the company came under fire for chaotic ticketing as well as its restrictions on fan projects during concerts for Super Junior and SEVENTEEN.

In 2024, refund delays for a postponed IVE show drew ire from fans. Some claimed that they hadn’t received their money back after months of waiting. That same year, fans experienced issues with ticketing for TREASURE, such as the ticket categories not matching the proper queue numbers.

This year, a last-minute change of venue for DAY6 resulted in problems for concertgoers who had planned their travel around the original venue. Fans also criticized Mecimapro for poor management and drew attention to safety concerns due to long lines for SEVENTEEN’s Right Here tour.
