TXT member Yeonjun recently shared his honest perspective on using ChatGPT, one of the most talked-about generative AI models today.

On April 30, KST, Yeonjun and his fellow TXT member Soobin greeted fans through a candid livestream, where they briefly talked about using ChatGPT. Soobin brought it up first, asking fans if they use the AI chatbot, and sharing that he used it “like raising a pet.”
He also rhetorically asked Yeonjun if he had ever used ChatGPT, to which he responded, “I want to try not using it as much as possible.”
Curious, Soobin asked if he was reluctant to use AI in order to avoid getting dependent on it. However, Yeonjun explained that his reason was purely based on his artistic integrity and values.
Everyone has different opinions, but for me personally…there are some things that are beautiful because they’re created by humans, right?… Like drawing, dancing, or singing…As someone who is doing something creative, I don’t want to rely on it for things like that.
— Yeonjun
“I don’t think it’s a bad thing in general,” he explained, “because the world is evolving.” He added that due to his personal values, he didn’t like participating in this new trend, but he was indeed curious about it.
Yeonjun’s perspective on AI usage has won him high praise from fans, since a majority of the K-Pop fanbase has advocated against AI use in art, despite the growing industry trend in its favor.
yeonjun said that he doesn’t really want to use ai because he thinks that humans are already making beautiful and creative art ❤️ he’s such a sweet soul pic.twitter.com/7ipx9xKX3i

i hope this now makes moas stop editing yeonjun’s (and all the members) body and face and using their voice to make ai covers or ai dance videos if you respect them as artists 🙏🏼 https://t.co/ELRdvapIwV
