Veteran singer SE7EN recently made a post on his Instagram, playfully calling out BIGBANG’s G-Dragon over an old story he shared in a recent YouTube video.

On November 5, KST, G-Dragon, and Taeyang appeared as guests in a video uploaded on Daesung’s YouTube channel ZIP Daesung, marking a much-awaited reunion of the BIGBANG members. The three spent some quality time reminiscing about their old days as trainees under YG Entertainment.

G-Dragon and Taeyang talked about their random dance battle with JYP Entertainment artists when they were still in the early years of their careers. It was Taeyang’s birthday, and they were hanging out together when they got a call from their then-CEO, Yang Hyun Suk, asking them to come over. JY ParkJay Park, and 2PM’s Junsu were already there, waiting, and the two teams ended up having an impromptu dance battle.

When Daesung asked if they had won that battle, G-Dragon confirmed that they did. Daesung then mentioned that these battles had become a tradition between YGE and JYPE trainees ever since SE7EN and RAIN (then-JYPE artist) started it. G-Dragon jokingly added that YGE had lost in that very battle, implying SE7EN was defeated by RAIN.

But after the video’s release, the veteran singer took it upon himself to set the record straight. SE7EN posted the clip of G-Dragon with a caption that implied that G-Dragon’s version of the story was not entirely true.

SE7EN also offered a second clarification regarding the origin of lightsticks in K-Pop. While the BIGBANG members claimed that they were the first ones to create lightsticks, SE7EN reminded that his 7-bong (Chil-bong) was, in fact, the first lightstick.

Though both SE7EN and BIGBANG have moved on from their former agency, YGE, it is heartwarming to see that these veteran K-Pop artists are still bantering like they were back in their early days.
