Recently, a comment from a videographer attending a wedding in Gwanghwamun on the day of BTS’s concert, expressed their frustration.

“I’m a wedding videographer, and being late to an event is a huge ordeal, so I always try to get there early with about 90 minutes to spare. I chose this time frame just in case something happens, such as an accident, or if I forget my equipment. For the past four years, I have never been late. I am usually the first to arrive and wait for the bride and groom, but this time, on my way to the Gwanghwamun wedding location, police buses were blocking the entrance to the venue parking lot. I tried to go around, but they had even restricted traffic at the roundabout. When I asked them what I’m supposed to do, they told me to walk.

I ended up parking in a public parking lot and walked all the way to the venue with 30kg of equipment, arriving just ten minutes before. Turns out the venue didn’t even have any flower wreaths because they couldn’t get into the building. Even the bride and groom couldn’t arrive on time, so we couldn’t film anything before the event. But because the wedding venue, the bride and groom, the filming team, and the guests were all victims in this situation, there was no one to blame.

The couple could be seen trying their best to smile, but I felt bad seeing them letting out a huge sigh. Most of the guests couldn’t come, and those who did arrive late just joined the group photo. But because people kept coming in late, taking the group photo took a long time, too. Even though it wasn’t my money, I felt so frustrated that they had blown away all their money for the wedding because of the Gwanghwamun event.
