In the K-Pop world, fansites and their content are inextricably linked to idol groups and their fandoms. So wherever idols go, “fansite masters” also go—with their big, professional cameras that capture the stars in “HD.”

And the “2025 SBS Gayo Daejeon” was no exception.

  • “Wow.”
  • “Wow… Camera companies must be making a fortune.”
  • “IDK. I’m just grateful for their efforts. There is not a single K-Pop fan who has never interacted with a fansite content. So…”
  • “Gross… I wonder why they’re so obsessed.”
  • “OMG, unbelievable.”
  • “It’s no different from holding up a phone.”
  • “I don’t get why taking photos is such a problem. Especially if it wasn’t prohibited, what’s wrong with it?”
  • “What’s the point of performing on stage as a singer lol… Disgusting.”
  • “Crazy.”
  • “Seriously, though. What are they even going to do with those photos?”

It sparked discussion about whether fansite masters and their contents (made this way) are acceptable…

  • “I just think they’re working so hard, even through the holidays, haha. But if everyone  is busy taking photos, can they still cheer or respond well during performances?”
  • “The event offered only three seats per group for the live audience. It makes sense that that the fansite masters go.”
  • “Creepy seeing them all so close together, snapping photos like that.”
  • “Grosses me out.”
  • “The photo is disturbingly claustrophobic… But yeah, if only three fans were allowed to  attend live, and they were allowed to bring cameras, I’d borrow one to take, too.”
  • “I mean, if you’re not even going to take pictures, why would you pay to go there? That’s why regular fans don’t go.”
  • “How are they so strong, though? I hurt my wrist holding one of those.”
  • “They’ll probably release these photos on April Fools’.”
  • “I can feel the level of dedication from this photo.”
  • “Wow… And it’s not even just a dozen people. There’s so many.”
  • “If you think about how those people are spending the time and money to go there, take photos like that, and then putting them online… You realize how insanely valuable their contents are.”

  • “Even when you plead with them to stop taking photos and just enjoy the show, the photographers ignore you.”
  • “Seriously bizarre…”
  • “Damn, people are so dedicated to stanning.”
  • “The non-fansite fans there must have been so frustrated. Like, can they even see the stage?”
  • “Wow, damn.”
  • “The ‘click click click’ must have been insane.”
  • “Gross.”
  • “Ew… Looks like a Photoshopped picture where it’s all cloned.”
  • “Wow…”
  • “Yeah… This could explain why idols get panic attacks.”

…when their behaviors have also been known to be disruptive and, while allowed at the SBS Gayo Daejeon, sometimes prohibited.

  • “I’m not saying the fansites themselves are gross, but the photo is disturbing—like a swarm of identical things all together triggers cluster phobia.”
  • “Ewwww, gross.”
  • “For a moment, I thought it was a flock of migratory birds lol.”
  • “If you have a problem with this, then you should’ve gone there yourself. There were plenty of fans without cameras in their seats. Nothing to whine about.”
  • “If I were performing on stage, I’d be a little scared.”
  • “Wow, insane.”
  • “What’s even gross about it?”
  • “Damn… I wonder how much is all that worth?”
  • “It’s not the people that are gross. It’s the white lenses all swarming like dots that’s creepy.”
  • “This is how celebrities make money, though. Because there are people like that.”
  • “Could be used as a Canon ad.”
