Unfortunately, after a short 14 months of promotions, GOT The Beat came to what seemed to be the end. Once dubbed the “Avengers” of K-Pop girl groups, though, GOT The Beat did build a solid fanbase. And for some, the super-group’s return remained a hope in their hearts…

GOT The Beat Were Invited To Perform At Coachella — But Didn’t Go For One Unexpected Reason, According To Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon

…until Girls’ Generation member Taeyeon appeared on Super Junior D&E‘s Hey, Come Here YouTube channel and made it clear that there wouldn’t be a comeback.

Donghae first asked if GOT The Beat still has a group chat, to which Taeyeon responded, “Yes,” though not too active. When Eunhyuk took the presence of that group chat to be a potential for GOT The Beat’s reunion, Taeyeon was quite adamant about the unlikelihood.

Donghae: Does GOT The Beat have one? A group chat?

Taeyeon: Yeah, we have one.

Donghae: Oh, really?!

Eunhyuk: Still?!

Taeyeon: Yeah, but it’s not active anymore.

Eunhyuk: Right, that makes sense. But does it mean that GOT The Beat might come back one day? Leaving the doors open, kind of?

Taeyeon: No… Those doors have been shut tight, I think.

Eunhyuk: Shut tight, huh? Just completely locked down?

In fact, this is not the first time Taeyeon has turned down the idea of GOT The Beat’s potential return.

So while Taeyeon did continue on to say that “the unit promotion was fun and rewarding,” fans came to understand that GOT The Beat is a done deal.

  • “Both SuperM and GOT The Beat were questionable. Haha. I think the super-groups are great for SM Concerts, but producing them into actual album-selling groups? It was a stretch.”

  • “HAHA.”
  • “She’s the funniest. LOL. I liked GOT The Beat when ‘Step Back’ was released. But all activities after that went down the drain.”
  • “Oh, I remember how I had the highest hopes for GOT The Beat because of the unbelievable member lineup…”
