As HYBE continues to face scrutiny over how it has handled BTS Jimin’s dating rumors with actress Song Da Eun, another company has unexpectedly entered the spotlight. Old statements from YG Entertainment about their artists’ relationship scandals have resurfaced, leaving netizens beyond amused.

One of the most memorable examples comes from 2015, when news broke about Taeyang and actress Min Hyo Rin. At the time, YG’s official statement read, “We can’t reach him right now… but if it’s true, congratulations.”

Even Yang Hyun Suk, the agency’s founder, commented, “Taeyang being in a relationship is a good thing,” since the idol had managed to avoid dating rumors throughout his career.

Another well-known response was when edited photos spread online, linking artists to supposed relationships. YG completely brushed off the rumors about a supposed relationship between 2NE1’s CL and WINNER’s Song Mino by saying it was “so ridiculous that they couldn’t even laugh.”

Compared to HYBE’s unclear response to BTS Jimin’s current rumors, netizens are finding YG’s blunt, almost comical approach refreshing. Many believe these past statements show how differently agencies have handled scandals over the years, and the resurfaced quotes have quickly gone viral.

- “He sounds like he’s never dated before, lol.”
- “SM and YG being like lifelong single dudes is hilarious, lolol.”
- “Saying it like he’s been single forever, so it really sounds like he’s genuinely happy for them, which makes it even funnier lol.”
- “Lmaooooooo.”
- “Acting like he’s a lifelong bachelor, ah lol.”
