Yoo Yeon Seok and Esom Face Off in Supernatural Legal Drama “Phantom Lawyer”

SBS has unveiled new still cuts from its upcoming Friday–Saturday drama Phantom Lawyer, highlighting the contrasting chemistry between leads Yoo Yeon Seok and Esom.

The series, set to premiere on March 13, blends legal suspense with supernatural elements, continuing SBS’s streak of high-engagement “cider” legal dramas.

Directed by Shin Jung-hoon and written by Kim Ga-young and Kang Cheol-gyu, God and Law Firm follows the unusual partnership between Shin Yi-rang (Yoo Yeon-seok), a lawyer who resolves the lingering resentments of the dead, and Han Na-hyun (Lee Som), a cold, elite attorney who relies solely on evidence and logic. The story traces their strange but compelling journey as they tackle cases from two sharply different perspectives.

The newly released images capture a tense face-off between the two characters. Shin Yi-rang defends truths revealed by ghosts, while Han Na-hyun focuses strictly on verifiable facts. Their opposing worldviews hint at challenges ahead, raising questions about how their dynamic will evolve as they confront increasingly mysterious incidents.

As the narrative unfolds, the pair’s contrasting abilities begin to complement each other. Han Na-hyun, initially skeptical of anything supernatural, gradually encounters Shin Yi-rang’s otherworldly reality and becomes his most trusted ally. Their relationship—shifting from conflict to cooperation—forms the emotional core of the drama.

“The contrasting setup of a lawyer who sees ghosts and a lawyer who refuses to believe in them most clearly reflects their relationship,” the production team said. They added that the “possessed chemistry” between the two will generate both tension and unexpected empathy throughout the story. The team also noted that Yoo Yeon-seok and Lee Som bring distinct energies that enhance the show’s immersion.

Phantom Lawyer will premiere on Friday, March 13 at 9:50 p.m. on SBS.
