CJ ENM Reveals Nominations for 2024 MAMA AWARDS

Leading entertainment company CJ ENM released today the nominations for 2024 MAMA AWARDS, which will start in the United States for the first time in its history before taking place in Japan in November.

The album/song eligibility period runs from October 1 2023 throughout September 30, 2024. The albums, songs and artists are assessed based on a holistic evaluation of global music data and a panel of specialists.

This year, the MAMA AWARDS updated criteria and added a new award category “Best Choreography,” as part of its ongoing efforts to set  new standards of K-pop awards and to keep with the theme of honoring K-pop and the work put into creating the music as comprehensively as possible.

As for the “Visa FANS’ CHOICE OF THE YEAR,” and “FANS’ CHOICE” categories, one of the MAMA AWARDS categories that honors the most influential artists chosen by fans, the 1st round of nomination votes will take place from October 14 to 25 (KST), after which the 2nd round will continue from November 1 (KST). Fans can vote on the global K-pop platform Mnet Plus and X.

Boasting a 25-year legacy, the MAMA AWARDS have been at the forefront of K-pop’s expansion, with award ceremonies hosted across Asia, including Macao, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Japan. Reflecting CJ ENM’s commitment to elevate K-pop music on a global scale, this year’s MAMA AWARDS, presented by Visa, will kick off at the Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on November 21 (PST)  and will be held at the KYOCERA DOME OSAKA in Japan over two days from November 22 to 23 (KST/JST). 2024 MAMA AWARDS will also be broadcast worldwide including global digital platforms.
