The much-anticipated "2024 MBC Gayo Daejejeon: WANNABE" has officially announced its new dates following its cancelation last December.

On January 15, Korean news outlet Herald POP released an exclusive report detailing the new dates for the highly-anticipated festival. According to the broadcast organization MBC, the two-day event has been rescheduled for January 29 and 30.

Originally set for December 31, 2024, the event was canceled out of respect for the victims of the Jeju Air crash. It has also been confirmed that there will be no changes to the performer lineup.

The event was supposed to be broadcast live, but MBC canceled the endeavor amid the grieving period caused by the national tragedy. Instead, the live performances were replaced with recorded broadcasts.

"The recorded broadcast reflects the mood of mourning," MBC also shared.

"We will cancel the New Year's countdown event and reduce the number of segments and the festival will be held minimally by focusing only on the artists' performances, which were prepared with great effort."

MBC also responded to reports claiming the song festival will be broadcast during the Lunar New Year holiday. "Nothing yet has been confirmed," it stated.

The full lineup also includes artists, such as NewJeans, SHINee's Taemin, Stray Kids, aespa, IVE, ATEEz, STAYC, ITZY, and many more.
