Releasing new music can be extremely expensive for any musician, and K-Pop idol groups often have an added financial burden due to how promotions work.
Idol groups release new music, which can be costly in itself, but they also need funds to promote the track on music shows, which include paying for costumes, set design, and hair and makeup. This can be a circular issue for a group not yet seeing the success they may deserve, and those under smaller labels, as promotion is needed to help build a fanbase.
Recently, a boy group member’s honesty and their attempt to continue making music left many heartbroken.
In 2021, JUSTB debuted under BlueDot Entertainment with the mini-album, Just Burn. Several members previously appeared on survival shows, including DY who successfully debuted in Under 19’s 1the9.
The group may be familiar to some following member Bain’s public coming out during a show in the United States.
On August 26, member Geonu shared a video on the group’s TikTok, surprising fans with his frankness about the group’s financial issues. He explained that he hoped to use the platform to promote for free, admitting that the group had “financial issues” and “even some disagreements” last year.

A few days after this video was shared, JUST B announced their next album would be funded through “Angel funding” or a method of crowdfunding. Each donation tier comes with perks that range from a supporter credit to a variety of either off-line or online events like video calls.
The top 6 contributors will also receive a personal item from the members.

A viral video discussing groups financially struggling, specifically referring to JUSTB gained attention as netizens shared their feelings on the topic.
