A Comeback We’ve All Been Waiting For — Wendy Is Ready To Take The Stage With “Cerulean Verge”

Red Velvet’s Wendy spent most of her career with SM Entertainment, cultivating her reputation as a girl group member and soloist. Together with a “Big 3” company, Wendy was able to cement herself as a top name in the K-Pop industry. However, this past April her contract ended and though fans were assured she wouldn’t be leaving the group, she would be parting ways with SM Entertainment. It didn’t take too long until it was announced that she would be joining hands with the newly created ASND Label, becoming labelmates with fromis_9.

Outside of becoming the MC for web program, “Wendy Today,” Wendy continued with her usual activities and schedules. Considering that she just moved over to a new label, fans would be understanding if she chose to take things slow before releasing new music. However, in a span of a few months, it seems the star is ready to greet everyone with her 3rd mini album, “Cerulean Verge.”

“Cerulean Verge” Details

Leading up to her third album, Wendy continued to showcase her vocals through various avenues. One being her web program, “Wendy Today,” where the star gave brief glimpses of herself covering various tracks from TaeYeon’s iconic ‘I’ to DBSK’s classic ‘Hug’. Although they weren’t her original songs, they held fans over until she was ready to release new music again.

“Cerulean Verge” consists of six tracks that include: ‘Fireproof,’ title track ‘Sunkiss’, ‘EXISTENTIAL CRISIS’, ‘Hate²’, ‘Chapter You’, and ‘Believe’. Just like her previous releases, it looks to highlight Wendy’s incredible vocals. Compared to her last album, “Wish You Hell”, “Cerulean Verge” is overall much more upbeat, embodying various genres from alternative rock to pop. Set to release on September 10th at 6 p.m. KST, fans are excited to see Wendy’s first album under a brand new label. Wendy comes with a slightly different look but is armed with her same power vocals that fans have come to know and love.
