A Fight Breaks Out At The 1st “D-AWARDS,” Sparks Heated Debate Over What Happened

On February 22, 2025 (KST), Korean media outlet Sports DongA held its first “2024 D-AWARDS,” celebrating the hottest K-Pop groups. At the Korea University Hwajeong Gymnasium, where the awarding ceremony was held, fans got to see their favorite idols up close.

The video shows two fans, one assumed to be female and the other male, aggressively grab each other’s hair and pull. @syoooooong commented, “They kept going even when the security arrived.”

According to @syoooooong’s following tweet, the two were asked to leave and escorted out by the security guards.

That said, when a more close-up video of the two fans involved in the fight seemingly confirmed that it was a man attacking a woman, fierce debate and backlash sparked across online communities.

Some condemned the other fans for not helping, while others berated the man for getting violent with a woman.
