One of K-pop’s biggest summer smash hits, ‘Supernova’ by aespa, has been reimagined by renowned hitmaker KENZIE. Listen HERE and watch the music video HERE.
‘Supernova’ is the first of three songs by KENZIE to be reinterpreted and released this week as part of the “KENZIE RE:WORKS” project via ScreaM Records (SM Entertainment’s dance music label).
The new take on ‘Supernova’ hears the energetic dance track enter a new dimension with more immersive sounds that conjure the experience of witnessing a supernova and the turbulent space. The intensity of the original song is heightened in the irregular harmony of exotic elements placed by KENZIE in her own musical language.
K-pop’s leading hit songwriter and producer KENZIE has been behind some of the SM Entertainment artists’ biggest and most enduring hits for over 20 years. As well as ‘Supernova’, KENZIE has worked on records for BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT, aespa, RIIZE and more.
‘Supernova (KENZIE RE:WORKS)’ and the recent dance remixes on “iScreaM Vol.33: Supernova / Armageddon Remixes” (listen HERE) all serve as the perfect runway into aespa’s forthcoming fifth mini album “Whiplash”, set for release on 21 October – pre-save/pre-order HERE. Watch this space.
