THE BLACK LABEL‘s co-ed K-Pop group, ALLDAY PROJECT, recently appeared on BIGBANG Daesung‘s YouTube show and revealed some lesser-known stories from their personal and professional lives.

One of the members of the group, Annie Moon, has been at the center of public attention ever since it was revealed that she came from generational wealth. She is the granddaughter of Lee Myung Hee, the Chairwoman of Shinsegae Group, which is one of the biggest South Korean conglomerates.

During the group’s appearance on ZIP Daesung, Annie talked about the extreme efforts she had to put in to convince her family to let her pursue her idol dreams. According to her, she spent ten years trying to get their approval, and had to meet an almost impossible condition to finally get to debut.
It took about ten years. At first they were 100% against it. But I kept saying I really wanted to do this. And finally, the deal was, ‘If you get into the Ivy League, we’ll let you.’

In order to fulfill her dream, Annie Moon actually ended up achieving the impressive feat and secured her place in Columbia University, which is one of the Ivy League schools in the US.
When Daesung asked if her family really pulled back all their objections after her Columbia Admission, Annie playfully responded, “They had no choice. They’d already made the deal.”
