Baek Yerin's agency People Like People Co., Ltd (PLP) has addressed the latest plagiarism controversy regarding Ha Sungwoon's OST for the K-drama "Love Next Door."
On Instagram, the agency addressed the similarities between Baek Yerin's "0310" and Ha Sungwoon's "What Are We." However, they first apologized to Ha Sungwoon and his fans for the inconvenience the controversy had caused. They also apologized to Baek Yerin's fans.
After acknowledging Baek Yerin's decision to call out the OST on her Instagram Stories, the company mentioned several factors, such as the song's overall structure, chord progression, and the various standards for determining plagiarism.
They then shared that the two songs will be sent to music experts for analysis. The agency also clarified that the issue is solely directed at the song's composition and not Ha Sungwoon, who only lent his voice for the OST.
The agency encouraged fans to refrain from mentioning other artists to prevent more arguments, given the number of messages sent to both singers on social media. The company is also looking forward to the OST composer's statement and apology through direct communication.
