Beloved Idol Reveals The Real Reason She Got Fired From A Fan-Favorite Show

It was a blessing in disguise, though.

On BIGBANG Daesung‘s YouTube show, SISTAR‘s Bora revealed the real reason she was cut from SBS‘s Star King, one of the most popular entertainment programs for K-Pop idols at the time.

The YouTube show starred Bora and her fellow second-generation girl group members, including T-ARA’s Hyomin, Jewelry’s Yewon, and KARA’s Heo Youngji. Reminiscing about the past, these idols all picked Star King as one of the toughest programs to be on. With the shoot lasting over 12 hours at times, Bora recalled how physically and mentally draining it was to be a part of the program.

In fact, Bora shared that it was because of how notoriously demanding Star King was that she eventually ended up getting booted from the show. She said that one time, she accidentally dozed off during the shoot, and soon enough, she was “fired immediately.” Bora noted, though, she was glad to be cut from the show—now that she can be honest about it!

We had just finished the Idol Star Athletics Championships in the morning and went straight into filming Star King. And of all things, it was a math-related segment, and we all ended up dozing off. It was all caught on camera, so we were cut from the show. Now that it’s in the past… I can honestly say I was grateful to be let go!
