Amid the devastating wildfires in South Korea, which have been dubbed the worst in the country’s history, many public figures have joined the relief efforts to aid the victims and reinforce relevant infrastructure. But this noble act by many celebrities has sparked some unexpected criticism toward others for seemingly failing to follow suit. BLACKPINK member Rosé is, unfortunately, one of them.

Rosé has received criticism over her latest Instagram story, in which she reposted a fan account’s detailed analysis of one of her recent outfits. In the caption, the idol wrote, “These are a few of my favorite things…”
In a post on Nate Pann that has since gone viral, a netizen criticized Rosé for the story, writing, “Yeah. She didn’t even donate and is busy showing off her luxury goods, LOL.”
Most of the comments under the post have defended Rosé, arguing that BLACKPINK members were being unfairly targeted with the same issue. Many also questioned the usefulness of such posts, wondering if donations should be forced out of anyone.

- “The BLACKPINK haters have been hating on Jennie until this afternoon, and now that Jisoo’s donation news is out, they are going after Rosé. These crazy ahjummas, what should we do about them? 😭”
- “But why is only BLACKPINK receiving this kind of criticism? Other groups have also donated, but not as a whole group—just one or two members. There are plenty of groups that didn’t donate at all, but people are only grabbing BLACKPINK by the hair.”
- “Please stop making posts like these. Donations shouldn’t be forced. Did you donate?”
- “I’m curious, but what did you guys do for BLACKPINK? You’ve been criticizing them all the time, but now you’re holding onto their donation money? If someone saw this, they’d think you’re paying them their salary.”
- “That’s clearly an ad. She has to work after all.”
Previously, Jennie also received similar criticism, only for her trolls to be swiftly proven wrong as the Hope Bridge Korea Relief Association announced she had made a significant donation for the relief efforts. Read more about it here:
