BTS‘s J-Hope has sparked controversy with his post following the W Korea event.

J-Hope was one of the stars who recently attended the controversial W Korea event.
The members of BTS who attended the event were hit with major backlash, along with many other idols who attended.

Following the event, J-Hope shared some photos and many thought they were meant to be a teaser of the announcement that he would be collaborating with LE SSERAFIM, that came later in the day.

In particular, the photos holding a vegetable seemingly match the concept of the girl group’s comeback.

Fans hit back at J-Hope, with some saying he wasn’t getting backlash due to his lack of popularity and others saying if he was a female idol, he would be hit with major criticism. Yet, some defended him, explaining that other stars, epecially actors and actresses were contunuing schedules, so were confused why idols were being directly held accountable for W Korea’s event.

- “Seems like J-Hope isn’t even unpopular enough to get bashed.”
- “He’s so clueless, seriously…”
- “If it were a female idol, she’d have been torn apart by now lol.”
- “Huh, what?”
- “It’s not even a controversy that J-Hope caused, so what’s the big deal? lol. There were tons of celebrities who attended. Should all of them stop their activities then? Actress Lee Young Ae and Jeon Yeo Been were also there, and Eunsoo’s Good Day and Ms. Incognito are still airing as usual.”
