CHAMELEON IN BLOOM: ASTRO’s YOON SAN-HA Dives Into Summer With Music, Acting, and a World Tour

2 weeks ago 19

ASTRO’s beloved maknae, Yoon San-ha, is entering a bold new era—one that’s as vibrant, surprising, and genre-defying as his second solo mini-album CHAMELEON, released on July 15.

From exploring personal growth through music to embracing a gender-bending romantic comedy and launching a global fan tour, San-ha is proving he’s no longer just the youngest in the group—he’s a dynamic solo force in full bloom.

CHAMELEON: A Sonic Leap in Color

San-ha’s CHAMELEON is a radiant burst of sound, capturing the kaleidoscopic moods of summer. Featuring the sultry title track “Extra Virgin,” the smooth groove of “Aura,” and the cheeky charm of “Bad Mosquito,” the album embraces musical duality—balancing playful and introspective tones. Critics have praised its fearless experimentation, noting San-ha’s evolving artistry and his growing confidence as a solo performer. From vocal texture to genre fusion, CHAMELEON doesn’t just entertain—it transforms.

First Lead Role: My Girlfriend Is the Man!

As if a genre-defying album weren’t enough, San-ha is also stepping into his first-ever lead acting role in the KBS2 romantic comedy My Girlfriend Is the Man!, which premiered on July 23. Adapted from a hit webtoon, the series follows Park Yoon-jae, an astronomy major (played by San-ha), whose girlfriend Kim Ji-eun (Arin of OH MY GIRL) wakes up one day in the body of a man (played by rookie actor Yoo Jung-hoo). What unfolds is a quirky, heart-tugging tale of identity, acceptance, and love that transcends gender. Adding a twist to the triangle is Kang Min-ju (portrayed by Chuu, formerly of LOONA), a bubbly classmate who finds herself falling for Yoon-jae.

The show’s unusual premise is grounded by San-ha’s earnest performance, which brings warmth and sincerity to a character navigating love in the most unexpected circumstances. It’s a brave, refreshing role that showcases San-ha’s ability to carry emotional depth and comedic timing—hallmarks of a promising screen star.

YOON SAN-HA FANCON [PRISM : from Y to A]

On top of the musical and acting buzz, San-ha is connecting with fans on an even more personal level through his first-ever solo world fan-con tour, YOON SAN-HA FANCON [PRISM : from Y to A]. Inspired by his ASTRO hyung Cha Eun-woo’s unrelenting drive, San-ha takes center stage in a fan meeting journey that spans continents.

Kicking off in Seoul on August 1–2, the tour makes stops in São Paulo, Santiago, Monterrey, Mexico City, Kobe, and Yokohama.

Filipino Arohas can look forward to the Manila leg on August 24, 6 PM at the SM North EDSA Skydome, brought by L-Squared Productions.

Tickets range from ₱5,500 (Silver) to ₱11,500 (SVIP), with the highest tier granting exclusive access to a “Welcoming Event” where lucky fans can meet San-ha before the show.

With demand high and limited tickets remaining via SM Tickets, the excitement is palpable.

From boy band youngest to multi-talented leading man, Yoon San-ha is no longer just adapting—he’s thriving. Whether he’s singing about love with a citrusy twist or navigating romantic confusion with cosmic sincerity, one thing’s clear: this chameleon knows how to shine in any color.
