On December 3rd (KST), it was officially announced that the girl group cignature had disbanded. The news, delivered by C9 Entertainment, came as a shock to fans who had followed the group since their debut in February 2020.

C9 Entertainment released a statement confirming the disbandment, which included the termination of all seven members’ exclusive contracts with the agency. The statement reads:

“Hello, this is C9 Entertainment.

We would like to share an important update regarding our artist cignature.

After thorough discussions between the company and the members, it was mutually agreed that the disbandment of the group was necessary.

As a result, we have terminated the exclusive contracts of all seven cignature members regardless of the remaining duration of their contracts. The group’s activities also officially concluded as of November 30, 2024.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the members of cignature, who gave their all despite numerous challenges over the years.

We also sincerely apologize to the fans for delivering this sudden news. We ask for your warm support for the members as they embark on new beginnings in various fields.”

cignature debuted on February 4, 2020, with the digital single “Nun Nu Nan Na.” They quickly became known for their vibrant performances, catchy tracks, and energetic presence in the K-pop scene. Over the years, cignature released several mini albums, including ‘Listen and Speak,’ ‘Us in the Summer,’ ‘My Aurora,’ and ‘Sweetie but Saltie,’ building a solid fan base.

However, despite their early success and growing popularity, the group faced multiple challenges, both internal and external. After nearly four years together, the members and the agency mutually agreed that it was time for the group to go their separate ways.
