The energy crackled in the air as Kuala Lumpur’s iconic concert venue – Zepp buzzed with excitement on December 1st, 2024. Tonight belonged to N.Flying, the K-pop band known for their infectious energy and electrifying performances. This marked their highly anticipated debut in Malaysia, and N.Fia (N.Flying’s fandom) came out in full force.
A sea of fans, decked out in a combination of red and black, erupted into cheers as the lights dimmed. The anticipation was thick, and N.Flying wasted no time in igniting the crowd from the get go. Started off with Flowerwork, Video Therapy, and Born To Be, the previously cold hall turned blazing hot from the band’s energy and Malaysia N.Fia. From the opening notes, the band’s stage presence was undeniable, combined with N.Fia singing and dancing along to each song, the atmosphere was amazing.

One of the most electrifying moments was the band’s rendition of their “I Think I Did”, one of two of their songs that made it into the soundtrack of the popular drama “Lovely Runner”. The powerful vocals by Hweseung soared, intricate guitar riffs cut through the air, and the driving rhythm section pulsed beneath it all, creating a sonic experience that left fans breathless.
But the concert wasn’t just about the music. N.Flying took time to connect with the audience on a personal level. Heartfelt messages were exchanged, and the band’s genuine appreciation for their Malaysian fans shone through. They melted the fans hearts when they greeted N.Fias with “sayang” and tried some words such as “mantap”, trying to get closer with fans by using the local lingo. This connection created an intimate and unforgettable atmosphere, making the concert feel more like a gathering of friends than a massive event.

During “Oh Really”, a fan held up a board saying oh really, translated to Malay is “Oh Yakah?”. Seeing this, Seung Hyub tested out the phrase and realised that it suits the song. He then proceed to sing more, to the fans amazement.

The band didn’t seem tired at all especially the two vocalists, Seung Hyub and Hwe Seung as they kept jumping up and down, running left to right to make sure each fans were being paid attention to. Screams were loud when the opening music to “기가 막혀 (Awesome)” started. The song goes back to 2015, a time when N.Flying has just debuted. Fans enjoyed the performance so much that they requested for the song to be performed again. Seung Hyub on behalf of N.Flying gave in to the fans, but the roles were switched between him and Hwe Seung. The latter took charge in singing the rap parts of the song, and did a good job. But Seung Hyub took over during the heavy rap part.
As the concert neared its end, N.Flying sang Good Bam, and left the stage. Wanting more, fans came together and shouted “encore” and sang to “I Like You”.
After sometime, the band came out again, looking refreshed and in new set of clothes, opened the encore performance with “The World Is Mine”.
“Thank you for the encore request, and for singing ‘I Like You’. We are gonna sing it now, can you sing together with us?” asked Seung Hyub. Fans eagerly said yes and they sang together throughout the whole song.
After each song, fans kept shouting “Encore!” and the band continued on song after song. But after they performed “Leave It”, Seung Hyub said “This is really the last song, but we promised to come back with Jaehyun (currently serving in the military), and give you an even better performance”.
To this, they performed “Songbird” and delivered a powerful encore performance that left the audience yearning for more. The final notes echoed through the venue, leaving a bittersweet yet lasting impression on everyone present.
The 2024 N.Flying LIVE ‘HIDE-OUT’ in Kuala Lumpur was a resounding success. It solidified the band’s position as one of the most exciting acts in the K-pop scene. But more than just talent, the concert showcased a strong bond between N.Flying and their devoted N.Fia.
