BLACKPINK recently marked their return to the stage as a group after nearly three years with the launch of their DEADLINE tour. Seoul’s Goyang Stadium witnessed the first two nights of this triumphant comeback on July 5 and 6.

The first two nights saw over 78,000 footfall, including that of the biggest names in K-Pop right now. Thanks to the power-packed performances by the four members, the concerts garnered huge public interest. However, the hype was at times interrupted by some chaotic incidents.

Disorder in VIP section:

One of the biggest issues faced by concert-goers was the disruption and disorder caused by fellow audience members, particularly in the VIP zones. Multiple fan-taken videos have surfaced online, showing some attendees illegally entering the VIP area when they didn’t hold valid tickets. In one such video, a male fan was seen doing the same, and he allegedly got aggressive when another fan tried to confront him.

In another clip, some fans were seen climbing over barriers and running into the VIP sections without caring about the seating arrangements or disrupting the viewing experience of the valid ticket holders.

Audience misconduct:

In one viral clip that surfaced online, an audience member, supposedly frustrated by the disorder happening at the VIP section, was seen splashing water on those who entered the section illegally. While some felt his act was understandable, others saw it as inappropriate audience behavior that added to the negative experience at such a high-profile event. Many also pointed out that it was highly possible that the man also hit legitimate VIP audience members with water, making his act of “protest” just another disorderly conduct.

Lack of proper crowd control disrupted the members:

The chaos happening off the stage ended up affecting the BLACKPINK members’ on-stage moments. While they tried to interact with fans sincerely during some candid moments in between the sets, they had to pause multiple times due to the crowd rushing into the VIP section, urging everyone to move back for safety.

A fan also threw a stuffed toy onto the stage, prompting Lisa to issue a firm warning. She tossed the toy off stage while asking audience members to refrain from throwing things on the stage.

To no fault of the BLACKPINK members, the first two concerts of their HEADLINE tour saw multiple moments where audience safety was at risk. These incidents have prompted fans to demand better crowd control and stricter seating rules for the upcoming shows.

YG Entertainment is also currently under fire for selling subpar seats for these concerts. You can read more about it here:
