Netflix’s popular series, Hellbound, is set to return with its second season on October 25.
A new teaser trailer and character key art have been released, giving fans a glimpse of the expanded universe and the ensemble cast.
The first season of Hellbound was a critical and commercial success, winning the Best Horror Series award at the 2021 Golden Tomato Awards. It ranked in the Top 10 TV list in 93 countries just ten days after its release.
Season 2 takes place in a world that continues to be plagued by hellbound decrees and demonstrations. Lawyer Min Hyejin, the Sodo, The New Truth, and the Arrowheads find themselves further entangled in the chaos as the formerly condemned Chairman Jung Jinsu and Park Jungja are resurrected.
One of the key characters returning is Jung Jinsu, the first Chairman of The New Truth. He revealed in the first season that he had received a prophecy from the angels 20 years ago and had secretly faced his own demonstration. His return raises many questions about his future.
New faces will also be joining the cast. Cheon Sehyeong, the first person to meet the resurrected Jung, is one of them. Lee Sugyeong, a political affairs secretary, aims to use the New Truth and Park Jungja to restore order. Miss Sunshine, a devoted Arrowhead follower, will also be introduced.
The teaser trailer offers a glimpse of the resurrected Jung Jinsu and Park Jungja, setting the stage for a new chapter in the Hellbound universe. As the New Truth struggles and the Arrowheads gain power, the chaos is expected to intensify.
Director and writer Yeon Sang-ho expressed his excitement and anticipation for the second season, stating that it will be filled with interesting questions for fans to ponder.
