A single tweet has set off a full-blown debate in the K-Pop community. The tweet, which originally didn’t call out any company by name, listed “the top 3 b*stards to kill in the K-Pop industry.”
케이팝에서 쳐죽여야할 새끼 탑3
1. 노래 브릿지 없앤 새끼
2. 상시 멤버십 연 새끼
3. 노래 2분대로 줄이고 중독성 강조하는 챌린지노래 만든새끼

1. The one who removed bridges in songs.
2. The one who started renewable paid memberships.
3. The one who shortened songs to in the 2-minute range and making hook-based songs suitable for social media challenges.

Before all these changes, K-Pop songs were traditionally between 3 to 4 minutes, and consisted of a formula of verse, chorus, bridge, climax, and chorus once again. Fanclubs were also non-renewable and often lasted for life. They would only allow fans to sign up once ever term during a specific date, making it harder for casuals to make a purchase just to attend concerts or get perks.
Within hours, the post exploded across social media, and netizens quickly began connecting the dots with many naming HYBE as the one who started it all.
| theqoo- HYBE LOL.
- HYBE.
- As for including English into songs and making them shorter, isn’t it just to follow global trends so they can enter the international market? (I don’t care of HYBE sinks or not, just make sure to catch Bang Si Hyuk.)
- HYBE ruined K-Pop.
- Wasn’t HYBE the first to allow people to enter sound checks? When I was a HYBE stan, I remember cursing so much because they brought the sound check thing to Korea after doing it overseas. Later on, other companies started doing the same.
As K-Pop gets bigger and bigger, changes are inevitable in the industry. More international features are being applied to the local scene as well, much to the dismay of longtime K-Pop fans who miss the olden days.
